The Witcher, Arkham Knight, Zelda U, Wii Fit U, DK Tropical Freeze, Xenoblade Chronicles X, Star Fox Zero, Smash 3DS/U, The Division, Dying Light, Uncharted 4, and etc etc. They could have certainly handled it better, but delays like this happen in gaming. Just cause it was kickstarted doesn't mean it won't have delays, especially since games coming from companies with huge sums of money get delayed. And, before people get into it, those companies often work on multiple games simultaneously. I've been playing the demo, and it's pretty neat so far. The combat system offers a good balance between risk and reward. It's safer to take out enemies from a distance, but fighting up close enables you to get more bonuses as you build up combos It's a more interesting twist on the typical formula than most other indie games provide. So far I've only played a couple of levels, and the level design is just ok. Hopefully the other levels show a bit more creativity. |
Well the delay is more annoying when the company keeps taking on new projects and launch another Kickstarter before this one is done.

But that's kind of how game development works. You'll need different people for different parts of production. The lead artist and sound technicians for instance should be basically done by now. Basically anyone who does conceptual stuff is also pretty much done. So, if there is nothing else in the works, these guys are sitting on their hands.
