While I do see them eventually having multiple hardware skews, maybe even eventually including you tablet concept, there's no way they'd drop it all at once. It would be suicide. Apple can have so many different hardware products because they trickled them out across over a decade. Releasing so many different unproven pieces of hardware at the same time or within too short a timespan would oversaturate and confuse the market. Each Apple product had a year where it was the big new thing all to itself. If Nintendo wants to do something similar, they'll have to keep that in mind. And they do. That's how they've treated their handheld line for years.
So while I can see them eventually reaching such hardware diversity, I think it'll only happen after many years of slowly trickling out. Though I do think they could release the NXDS and NX within the same year. But I wouldn't expect a third pillar product for at least two years after those launch.
