Full game is out as of this week.
Jim Sterling gave it 10/10. RPS said it "deserves to be remembered by PC players in much the same way that Earthbound is for console fans". It's the third highest rated game on Steam. If you liked Earthbound, or good soundtracks, or intensely thoughtful, intensely funny games, I highly recommend it.
The way battles work is completely unique. You have the choice, if you want, to not fight any enemy and instead use talking and actions to progress. It's up to you. There's a very deep story here so it's hard to convey without spoiling.
It truly respects player choice. There's different dialogue paths for every choice you could make, and they each lead to a fully satisfying and emotional ending. I cried at the end.
For me - game of the decade. No question.
