I completely agree to all of your points. I think a good meta average based on what the game deserved would be in the mid 80s.
It's a good to great game. However suffers a lot from repetitive missions, boring missions, boring characters, and basically no story.
I'm quite disappointed as a somewhat long term MGS fan (played all at launch since MGS4; since went back to complete MGS2/3)
