However, he may be partially right, VR may be good for simpler, short, yet intense experiences or meditation like software... the common thing people who played around with it a lot seems to say is that they would not use these headsets for long periods of time, or that it's so different than a "regular" game that they do not see how it would integrate... My opinion, with only about 5 minutes of use of an Oculus rift model 1 is that if you give me a regular controller and the head tracking is used to give me some partial control over the camera in a regular game I will LOVE it, imagine being INSIDE a car and being able to look around naturally while you drive, it look around in an FPS while walking(all other controls being adjusted to this). |
I've had my cardboard for just over a week now. It's cool, but don't expect an Oculus level experience. One of my favorite things about it so far is having people who are totally out of the know when it comes to VR try it haha. My mom was blown away by Titans of Space haha.
I think if you're using it for a full game you should be able to use VR comfortably for a couple of hours.

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.
