No, the AppleTV unfortunately uses the older A8 processor (from last year). However it probably stands to reason that the next-gen Apple TV (next year) will have this A9 or A9X processor. And then at that point, yes, it probably would be more powerful than a Wii U. 

Well, nVidia Android TV is already more powerful than WiiU/PS360...so there's that, though it does cost $199 for 16GB version.
