So the TR exclusivity deal wasn't hammered out on his watch? Or is he saying he's realised it was a bad idea because it looks like they'll get no benefit from it? Although arguably the reason they'll get no benefit from it is because they weren't willing to pay what it takes for RoTR to be permanently console exclusive.

Titanfall was definitely not on his watch because that deal would have been done pre-launch, which means Don Mattrick. Again, arguably this was a better deal because it was full console exclusive. The only thing wrong with it was the game didn't end up being "the next big thing". But at least Don went all in and made it full and proper exclusive, at least until TF2.

Of course in Mattrick's deal for TF was more honourable because he was funding a whole new IP.

Like others have said, my understanding was that FFXIV was kept off Xbox because they don't do cross platform play with Playstation. IMO everyone, not matter what console they prefer, should be demanding cross-platform play for most, if not all 3rd party multiplatform games. There is really no reason to keep online communities separate like this now that cross-platform MP play has been proven to work between PS3 and PC. Given how different these platforms are, if the developers could figure out a solution to achieve CPP between those platforms they can figure out CPP for PS4/PC/Xb one very easily. The only real negative is the advantage PC gamers have is when KB+M inputs are superior for a game (like FPS). But since I think PS4 and Xb one can both accept KB+M inputs it would be a self imposed disadvantage for console gamers who chose to play online without getting the peripheral hardware.
