Hyrule Warriors released in September in the west and august in Japan. If you include Hyrule Warriors into the holiday lineup of last year you'll have to include Super Mario Maker into this year's lineup too. Bayonetta 2 released in october (september in Japan), but didn't do very much to boost the sales. Smash Bros, on the other hand, didn't push very much hardware because the game was already out on 3DS for several months then.

Also where's Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash, Fatal Frame 5, Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival? Yoshi's Whooly World also counts in North America for this year's holiday season.

Fatal Frame 5 and Yoshi's Whooly World are big franchises ? Well that's news to me ...

And you want me to count two extreme spin-offs ?

I have to agree with you that it's unlikely that wiiU will be up YoY but I wouldn't discount Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival just yet. Even tough it probably won't be a massive success among the core, I think that that title has some big potential to be a big system seller this holiday among casual consumers. Especially in Japan where Animal crossing is a massive franchise.

Predictions for LT console sales:

PS4: 120M

XB1: 70M

WiiU: 14M

3DS: 60M

Vita: 13M
