Will be viewed as such. Unless it gets unprecedented support , I really doubt this will take off. An expensive VR device that is only compatible with one machine doesn't sound too attractive.

I don't know what kind of numbers SONY are accepting though. This could be a product that will get many revisions down the line, and Morpheus is only a first generation device that serves unambitious realistic goals, like getting the PS-VR ball rolling.... and not much else.
