Anyone who buys the legendary edition (the new meta retail version) comes with all dlc including The Taken King for $60. If you owned Destiny previously, you can get TK for 40, and yes after playing it, it is worth it. Bungi listened to fan feedback and it shows.

As for "removed" content, this is only half true. All missions, strikes, MP maps, raids etc are intact. No content has been removed.

What people are complaining about is the variable difficulties of said content through play lists and modifiers. For example, weekly strikes have been increased to level 40 and max level for vanilla is 34. Also it would seem Crucible modes for year 1 content have been consolidated, but are still there.

Now I am not defending Bungivision here, but this is nothing bew for MMOs. Also the EULA you agree to states that you buy a license to play the game, you do not own it (like any other online only game). Is it wrong? No. Is it illegal? No. But does it show a lack of respect? Yes. In my opinion they should have at least kept the modifiers for the old missions available. Other than that though I really don't see a big issue. I have a feeling they will patch something in soon enough to remedy this though.

In all honesty however, if you are still playing Destiny you are getting TK anyway, as old content is and feels well....old. I love the game and it is def going in the right direction with TK, and Bungi is within legal bounds. However keeping your fanbase happy is very important as well. I do see a patch coming soon to fix things, but time will tell.
