I think it`s a shame Sony ditched Cell, but they had to, x86 is a far more developer friendly architecture. It looks like it will take decades, if ever, for this kind of power to be reached in x86. If PS3 just was a major hit, developers would have no option but to learn how to live with it. If ps3 was a 150 million seller system and let x360 and wii to shame they could do anything they wanted and the developers would have to adapt or die.
