Developers would have to drastically lower the prices of new games. Is that feasible for what we would consider AAA releases such as the new batman, new uncharted, halo games, etc.? I am not much of a steam gamer (at all!) but I am pretty sure that the budget for those kinds of games are not the same as those that are getting released for PS4/Wii U/ and X1. If there were no physical option for games on these systems, would they still retain their $60 price tag? Im interested to hear your thoughts on this.

No, they wouldn't. They don't do it on Steam, and no one cares. Used games are like $5 off when they are new. The used game market only really matters when games are old, in which case steam sales and developer discounts already happen there, and they are often as cheap, if not cheaper than any physical used game.

...Not the same? Is that a joke? What makes you think a PC port would be so much less expensive than a console port, if at all?

Yeah, they would retain their $60 price tag. At launch. Like most AAA games on Steam do and like all launch new used games are. Then they'd go down in price as the games get older, like all AAA Steam games do, and like all used games do. Then they'd also have the sales, which frankly happen much more often on Steam than in Gamestop or Target, with the benefit of profits actually still going to the developers.

This isn't some uncharted, innovative idea. Steam has been doing this for years. They've already killed the used game market on PC, and we all know how pompus PC gamers are about how cheap PC is compared to consoles after the initial hardware purchases. And Valve isn't exaclty hemeraging money because of it.

Well if it is so great for the developer, then why bother still supporting consoles with their games? Im sure the PS4 version of batman made a shit ton more cash for the developer than steam sales. It really goes to show what that studio thinks of PC gaming as well seeing as the PC version of the game was completely broken. How many people do you think were able to get Batman on PS4 or X1 because they were able to sell their used games for store credit? my guess is a lot. It counts for something and drives the sales of games, this is something that you simply cannot ignore or avoid.
