I think that's exactly the issue Nintendo will tackle with the NX. They're gonna turn the membership steam-like with the amounts of sales and discounts as well as an all digital market place.
Do consoles have a long way to go? Absolutely. Doesn't that mean it has to happen gradually and slowly? Lmao, of course not.
