100% untrue. New game sales would increase if anything and, as Steam has proven brilliantly, prices can perfectly match and even undercut used games prices in a digital store front while still making publishers a shit ton of money, unlike with used games.

I don't care that they exist, but let's not act like the industry wouldn't be better off if they didn't, because it would, especially once everything goes digital.

Developers would have to drastically lower the prices of new games. Is that feasible for what we would consider AAA releases such as the new batman, new uncharted, halo games, etc.? I am not much of a steam gamer (at all!) but I am pretty sure that the budget for those kinds of games are not the same as those that are getting released for PS4/Wii U/ and X1. If there were no physical option for games on these systems, would they still retain their $60 price tag? Im interested to hear your thoughts on this.
