in the light of what i said above, I don't believe this. Of course you can try to add those japanese elements, but it will be artificial, never authentic, you will be searching and trying to make something japanese while it's not your own style. In art it would mean that someone from let's say the cubic art style (school like they say), would try to draw a impressionist painting, but he will be searching where he can implement impressionist elements, but it won't come naturally or authentic and won't ever be original. It will be imitation. Like the romans said, 'imitatio'.
