Thats what I was thinking too.
Keep it simple stupid (kiss).
Playstation (marketnig wise) reminds me abit of apple in that reguard.
It works for apple, and its worked well enough for the playstation brand.
self-explanatory names, simple messages communicated in really easy to understand concepts, extrem user friendly, ect.
Theres just no reason to make things harder on yourself or others than needs be.
The PS4 is a game console.... not a games console that you can use as a DVR, with tons of multi-media funktions that can do a million differt things at once, no use of key buzz words that reviewers all love ect. They kept the message they comunicated simple.
Sony marketed a simple concept. We designed this thing to do gameing really well, since its a gameing console.
Same with that video that showed how you "lend" a game to a friend to play (back when MS had all this weird stuff about always on DRM, and playing used games ect, and a really complicated communication of said message)
Video was just 1 guy, handing the DVD to another, the end.
Guess what? sh*t works. Its great marketing, its also very pro consumer.
No one is really surprised the PS4 is selling better than the Xbox one.
