Nope, it was awesome and better than the 2D games.

The 2D Castlevania games are still being remembered fondly  due to how good they are. I doubt anyone will give a damn about LoS in 10 years.

Pretty much this. Dracula X and SOTN are masterpieces. No one really gives a damn about LoS right now.
