You make no sense, yes we have dlc and specs talks...
you can just avoid them and enjoy the games, like you used to when you were younget... Old games are technically and often mechanically less proficient, however they are often just as fun in their own way (it's easy to just pick the cream of the crop on old systems, so their libraries look really good too).
I personally ignore all dlc, pre order bonusses, etc. And play 98% single player, mostly story or mood based titles, or re-play older jrpgs/action games... I also appreciate the technical progression on consoles and pc hardware and get that some people are upset that it's still in question wether their consoles will run games with a decent frame rate, plenty of details while keeping the resolution at 1080p, which the ps4 mostly does adequately fine, but this is the only acceptable console power wise.
