With Tomb Raider, the extra large busom was a deliberate design choice, however as much as people may pooh pooh it now, it was a very important step forward for video games. There was an unusually large female audience for the original Tomb Raiders too that would probably have overlooked it had it been an Indiana Jones cliche main character. I perfectly agree with if you don't like it don't get it mentality. At the end of the day, if there is a market for something, it is there, whether you personally like it or not. People need to start accepting that not everything is necessarily aimed at them. |
Think of it this way:
-I liked Persona 4g, but I found the combat a little boring.
-Well if you don't like the game, don't buy it.
- I loved Naruto Ninja Storm 2, but I hate online only trohies. Wish they'd remove them.
-Well if you don't like the game, don't buy it.
-Dragon Age was awesome, but I hate miscrotransactions/on disc dlc.
-Well if you don't like the game, don't buy it.
I don't see anything wrong with complaining about these things. How else are developers supposed to know how to improve their games? Or what's the point of discussion, if we don't express our opinion?
I think it's thanks to complains about the depiction of women in video games that we now get video games like Horizon.
