The problem with LBP from the beginning, was that it was a neat idea, but the actual engine/physics they gave players to work with, sucked. Building your own custom levels for others to play is neat and all, but who wants to play through side-scrolling gameplay that is floaty as hell? My biggest gripe with it, is that in a platformer, the two things you need to be able to do well, for the game to play well and be fun, is run and jump, and at least in the first LBP (the only one I bothered trying), you could not do those things well.
