Nah. I wouldn't say I hated it, but it was nowhere close to the first game.
The first game gave me a sense of landing in an alien world and exploring. Although brief, I was totally immersed for the whole time.
Pikmin 2 was the opposite. Started out great, then shoved me down floor after floor of underground cave until I didn't really care anymore.
I only put about 6 hours into Pikmin 3 (playing on a friend's console), but it looked like a return to form. I'd hate for them to go back to the Pikmin 2 formula, personally.
