The only mistake you could possibly see here is announcing the DLC prior to the game's release, but it's obvious why companies decide to do that. Maybe it's coming like cold from my part, but why would I care what ND would gain? They're a healthy company, despite some rocky moments in its history; I am not, and my interest as a consumer come first than the success I bid them. As I said earlier, they can do whatever they want, it's their game and their bussiness.
I fail to see the connection of ND not implementing the DLC in the vanilla game and Sony producing Until Dawn, by the way. That's like saying had Inafune made Dead Rising's Overtime mode paid DLC, Capcom would spend on taking risks like Asura's Wrath.
