I mean...that's definitely not the reason that it's not popular in the US. It might be partially the reason. But certainly not the reason.

you're both right. There is no single reason why. Just a multitude of reasons. While I agree the commericial aspect is not the biggest reason, I think it directly reflects networks willingness to exposure of the sport.

The less something is on TV, the less popular it will be and vice versa. If there is a higher profit margin in one sport over another in a minnow sport, a big network will likely sacrifice the time to the one that will yield more money.

Americans and Europeans alike need to learn the superiority of Gaelic sports though!
