I'm not the sort of person that gets hyped over what other people say. I'm a realist and as a realist I say it as I see it. My complaints about The Witcher were the controls but I got used to them. I still didn't finish it though because I got bored with it after about 60 hours. I was already bored of this game after 3 hours and every SINGLE thing in this game iritates me, and I mean EVERYTHING. It's NOT a MGS game, it's Farcry for the dudepros. |
Sounds almost like we are playing different games. MGS V is very much a metal gear game, the only real difference is the open world structure. But when it comes to gameplay, infiltrating a base, taking out enemies, all the MG elements are there. Only a lot more streamlined and playable, making it feel more fluid. Like CQC always felt a bit off using it, but in MGSV it feels spot on, letting you take out enemies like a pro.
The game does feel a little overwhelming at the start, when all the motherbase stuff is explained. But if you spend a bit of time with it all becomes clear. And i have to say it's a lot fun building up your base and developing all the gear. If every mission feels the same to you, the only one to blame is you. You could approache every situation the same way and it would probably work. But the fun is that you are free to really try different ways and get rewarded for it.
I played all Metal gear games (starting with the originals on MSX), and to me MGSV really feels like a grown up version. All the good elements from the previous games are here, expanded with an open world, base building and lots of freedom of choice on how you take on situations. It also feels a lot less cutscene heavy with a better focus on playing the game then just watching it (although i always enjoyed the cutscenes). I'm almost 30 hours into the game now, and it just keeps getting better.
