You've been talking about getting a Vita for at least 2 years :P
At the price the PS TV was at during the fire sales ($20), I'm surprised you didn't jump on that. Stuff might not be compatible, but that's 1/3 the price of a new game. It's ridiculous the console got that cheap! I'd have bought it in a second if UK prices were similar.
These new colours are the 2000 model. I'm not sure Vita is popular enough anywhere in the world for a new model again, but it's not beyond the realms of possibility. Supposedly 2000 is pretty good though (better battery life at least, which is a big deal for me in mobile hardware).
