As a primarily handheld gamer myself, I have to say the DS and the PSP brought way more games to the table than the 3DS/Vita. Distribution for most of them was awful, but still, my "Must play" list still has more DS games than 3DS. The effects of the mobile uprising, I suppose.

Man, seem like the 3DS is dead and being discontinued. I though for sure Nintendo was going to push the New 3DS and have much more support for the handheld this E3 with everything happening with the WiiU and NX not being at the show. But, instead they barely announce any exclusive game for the 3DS and New 3DS. It just goes to show that every Nintendo hardware is getting zero support from 3rd party developpers and is creating embarrassing drought for Nintendo.

I'm going to the Nintendo World Store for the first time next week, I was concidering picking up a New 3DS to commomerate the occassion but I hardly see the reason to get a New 3DS.

Well to be frank, the 3DS is already 4.5 years old at this point. Nintendo is starting to probably shift resources to the next console. As for the 3rd party support, I agree the Wii U got shafted in that regard but the 3DS has gotten pretty good support honestly. Keep in mind that we can really only rely on Japan for HH support though.

Western developers like Activision, Take Two, Ubisoft and so on have never really been big players in the HH market. Sure they might throw it a bone like when we got that GTA Chinatown Wars game on DS or that Rayman 2 port on 3DS, but other than that HH has always been a Japan-centric thing, In stark contrast to consoles these days which I see as being more Western-centered with the occasional Japanese game.
