problem is, this is Japan we are talking about. SE needs to launch it in a successful platform the japanese wants. and that is the 3Ds.  I don't know why SE didn't push a Vita version.  but they only pushed it for 3Ds for the japanese people.

why would you not wish for a game on not to sell well, if you do that, SE would even try to push on the localization for these titles to the west.

I would wish it not sell well, because worse versions of previously released games are not my idea of a wise investment. DQ7 on 3DS was a great option and I really wish they would localize it. It suited the platform very well. I don't dislike people or anyone who goes out and buys/enjoys DQ8 3DS. It's a good game, just wish they would have gone a different direction for it.

And I absolutely understand the business sense of the decision. I'm not condemning it on its sales or business potential. I know that Square is prepping PS4 and 3DS for DQ11 by releasing more and more DQ content for those platforms.

is it really a full demake?  there was this video i've watched an american who stayed for a while in japan, and asked about Majora's Mask 3D and why they are still buying an old port, the japanese kids doesn't know that it was a port from few years back. and they love it as a new game.

so if DQ is targeted for younger audience in japan, and they didn't experience it in previous gen, they can experience it as a 'new' game under 3Ds platform. Japan is really more into handheld so we can't push games they want into home consoles.  the DQ11 is an issue they want to have for both a HC and HH, to accommodate both type of consoles.  and DQ as a series is a big hit in Japan, not so much in the west.  so most of the revenue would surely be from within the market.

i don't know the reason why SE doesn't want to port it in Vita as Vita is somewhat good in Japan compared to HC counterparts.
