I actually have a modicum of sympathy for the woman, when she was first appointed to the job there was no conflict for her and she likely never imagined that she would be charged with a trial like this that goes counter to her faith. However, as an official of the state, a representative of the law, if her conscience prevents her from doing her job then she needs to step down rather than make a ludicrous spectacle of herself.
