People that argue that this only happens because people are happy to pay micro transactions, and that they don't mind because they don't are only semi-grasping the point.

Think back to Goldeneye 64. Think of all the skins you could access, all the guns you could use. Then think about the skins, guns and perks you could obtain through in-game cheats.

Now imagine that half of all of them could only be obtained by paying extra for the game on top of your $60 for the title, and your $60 for PS+ for the year.

THATS what is happening here. Things are being withheld from the game so that they can be sold later. You don't buy them? Fine. While you're busy laughing at those that do, you're missing the fact that you'd have more content if gamers were unwilling to put up with this.

This is FAR from a Naughty Dog specific problem, but they have gotten an absolute free-pass because their single player remains epic, and their multiplayer forgettable.

What's happening here, is people refused to listen to folks saying removing mod tools and server control years ago, was a bad idea.  What's happening here, is people refused to listen to the folks who said buying into PS+ and XBL, was a bad idea.  What's happening here, is people were warned, countless times, that this was setting a bad precedent by PC Gamer's, and ignored, called trolls, etc... and now they're complaining about it, after they bought into it.  What should've happened, is people should've demanded mod support on console.  People should've demanded, local server options, on console.  They didn't, and...well...

Basically, people are trying to find anyone else to point a finger at, but themselves.  As I've said, at least hundreds of times now, people being split up into their different tribal groups, may be fun on the message boards.  But, in the bigger picture, some have greater experience than others(Or maybe just a different perspective, doesn't have to be experience), and may not just be talking out of their ass.

Yeah, it'd be really damn hard to effect DLC, by boycotting it.  But, that's literally the only option, now that everyone bought into it.  As long as they can make money from it, they will continue to do it.  If the money stops flowing, that particular shady tactic, will peter out and die.  But, as consumers, we must remain vigilant and aware of the tricks business will pull.  Hopefully, people will learn this lesson, this generation.  They probably won't, but, we can hope.

And Sorry Cone, I realize the above may include you in some way shape or form, but I really have very little sympathy for gamer's in this particular issue.
