On topic, if this clerk is failing to uphold the law she shouldn't be allowed to work for the government, simple as that. Also, if it is true that she has been divorced four times then she is a disgusting hypocrite. |
I don't see any of you attacking the government for failing to enforce a huge number of laws on a daily basis, but yes, by all means let's crucify this woman. And I guess anyone with any religious conviction at all should not be allowed to work for the government in the event that in the future, there might be a situation where your beliefs and a law might clash. Incidentally that's known as religious persecution as well as discrimination.

She is a religious idiot who is using her personal belief to discriminate against someone else. Her religion is irrelevant for her job and her job is to sign the marraige license, period. Plenty of people don't like gays, but do they refuse to service gay people? No and they should not be able to. If the situation was reversed wouls you still agree? For instance if someone was muslim and did not want to serve women, because most muslims do not believe in communicating with women -as was the case for a college student who refused to partner with female stidents- or if a person has racist beliefs. I don't like Christians, but should I have the right to refuse them servie when I am at my job?
