I haven't played Driveclub, so I can't comment on anything but the little bit the video and other videos I've seen, but from what I saw, I don't particularly care for the rain effects.

There's two things that stick out to me; the sheer amount of reflection on the road which makes you think there's half a foot of rain on the track. Forza doesn't have that. There's also a much more prominent mist effect from cars in Driveclub which is more realistic. The rain also seems more realistic as an actual object in Driveclub when the wipers wipe it away. Aside from that, I don't see an actual difference between them.

That said, the rain definitely looks way more annoying in Driveclub. For some reason it's supposed to be cool that it acts like Vaseline on the camera, despite not using a cockpit camera which makes no sense. There are points where I can't see a damn thing despite the rain not being anywhere close to the intensity required to produce that level of blindness.

Lastly, the driving effects on rain in Driveclub is just comical. 2:43 in particular is just laughable. Braking to take a turn at 190 kph while it's pouring does not result in a perfect turn with no loss of traction or control. It results in you spinning out of control. I know it's much more arcadey than Forza, but there just doesn't seem like any discernable challenge when you don't have to worry about going off the track. I counted one time where it looked like the driver lost partial control of the car when in Forza there would have been 7 or 8. Just seems to be much more realism in Forza's rain driving. It just looks a little bland at the moment and not as realistic.
