Oddly enough, this documentary suggests that if humans suddenly and mysteriously died out right now, after 10,000 years, Mt Rushmore would be the only visible clue on Earth that we even existed. View the video from about 1:20:45.

Back on topic, I must admit I'd never heard of Mt. Mckinley until now; Denali is a much better name IMO.

As far as confusion over renaming things is concerned, there's no worry there. Places, cities, entire countries get renamed, and people just get used to the new name.
