If you get a substantial amount of money, more than you ever had before, but you then change everything about your life instantly, of course it will affect you. He was earning millions before hand, enough to buy big houses, expensive cars etc. The 2.5bil obviously was too much because he did too much with it. Buying a house in LA? Partying in Ibiza? Neither of these are me at all. I would not do anything like that. Makes me think, none of those things are him either. It's doing things you think you need to do just because you have the money.
I bet, if all he did was buy a bigger house in Sweden, live his life as he did before, maybe start a new business, he'd be happy.
