well its steam giving a platform for DRM on disc based games like the Xbox Ones original design thats the big picture here 

If you prefer physical, then yeah, I can see it turning you off PC gaming, and I personally don't like the concept either.

However I feel that isn't enough to adandon the great experiences and games you can get on PC digitally, though I admit getting things physically is my preference :P
