I'd be curious how many here were actually raised in religious cults. The legal thing they do is a form of mental torture where those that question dogma are "disassociated" from the whole. This means those friends and family you grew up with and came to love suddenly have nothing to do with you. They actually believe this is compassion because you are wayward and to show any sympathy would be endorsing your decadent life style. Now, imagine growing up and being an inquisitive child who knows that asking questions like, "Why can't women be elders?" can get you and your parents in trouble and cost you everything. I saw it several times and it is heart breaking how cruel people can be, specifically to children, because of indoctrination. I have a very low tolerance for those that hide behind tolerance as a way to bully others.
