I can just use Spotify for music I may want to listen to while playing a game. Otherwise the youtube app is fine. I've noticed that the browser has some issues with RAM consumption as well based on my time with my roommate and his PS4, which makes me believe the app is simply the better choice. I have never seen the PS4 have to force close all open applications (which was the browser with two whole windows) with anything except the browser.
The browser overall gets a 6/10 from me. Hard to recommend.
