This generation has defied everything that is logic so I wouldn't be so sure. Obviously, Microsoft has the better software lineup for this Fall. I don't believe that's even disputable. However, the PS4 has been dominating to such a point where the lead is at least 11-12m+ units now. That's a lot of ground to cover because Sony starts their big lineup in 2016. In addition, there will be the Japanese exclusives such as Nier 2, Star Ocean 6, etc.

I don't think Microsoft outsells Sony this holiday despite that better lineup. I believe that the message at launch was so damn confusing it threw logic out the window. USA? They'll take a few weeks, but WW I think the ship has sailed on EU and JPN.

It will be a very interesting holiday for sure. Hopefully, we'll have some numbers :/

Of course it's disputable, it all comes down to preference, XB1 only has a single exclusive coming this Fall, The Tomorrow Children or Fat Princess could both rate higher than Halo, there's also Kill Strain which is likely a Fall game now as well, people don't have to pay to play it either, it's also a full on PS4 exclusive, created by a major 1st party studio (Sony San Diego), people can just play it once they get their systems online.

Sony has had way more exclusives throughout the entire length of the systems life, those games are still available on the platform.

XB1 won't gain any ground globally this Fall, PS4 will sell more just as it did last holiday. Best case scenario for XB1 the platform comes close to Sony's level of sales, but I doubt it. Even with XBox One still having COD, the MCC and Forza, along with Sunset Overdrive and a boat load of holiday deals PS4 still outsold XB1 by a good 1.8M more.

This year PS4 has more exclusives, all of the major 3rd party deals like Battlefront, COD, Metal Gear, Mad Max, likely equal holiday deals, I doubt XB1 will get anywhere near to PS4's level of sales and Sony also has way more major exclusives coming next spring, plus a tonne more exclusives overall.

PS4 has nothing to worry about.
