I hope you are not serious windbane.

"The motion control on the Wiimote is the same as the PS3 controller, though."

You are kidding right? The SIXAXIS can only sense tilt on the axes. It has no ability to postion itself in 3-D space. Cam a car move back when the SIXAXIS is 5 feet away from the TV and go foward when 1 foot away? Not tilt, postion. Could that possibly happen? No!

The Wiimote has the ability to sense where it is in 3-D space. If it is moved foward, IT CAN MOVE FORWARD ON SCREEN! THE SIXAXIS CANNOT!

SIXAXIS = Tilt.

Wiimote = IR, Tilt, 3D Space.

SIXAXIS =/= Wiimote.

You really are blinded by fanboyism grasping at straws that don't exist.

You're sort of right but mostly wrong.

The Wiimote actually knowing how far it is from the TV is just IR. That said, the Wiimote knowing the speed and direction it's moving is handled by an accelerometer combined with the tilt sensors. So yes, the Wiimote can be flung forward and the game will sense it. The PS3 also has an accelerometer, and can also sense when it's being flung and in what direction.

What makes the Wiimote worthwhile is the combination of motion sensing and IR sensing that allows for things like precise movement forward and backwards, but that is an IR function, not motion sensing.
