T2 cant rely on only one AAA game to get them out of their financial woes no matter how big

They have no financial woes. The only problem they have is a predatory EA on their doorsteps trying to buy them. Besides their one AAA game has more sales than most publishers alltogether. So lets wait a bit.

The idea GTA IV is somehow flopping is laughable, but that doesn't mean that Take Two doesn't have financial woes.

Net revenue for the first quarter was $240.4 million, compared to $277.3 million for the same quarter of fiscal 2007, which benefited from more new game releases in last years holiday season. First quarter sales were led by BioShock, Carnival Games, NBA 2K8, Grand Theft Auto catalog titles, and the release of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories in Japan. Distribution revenue rose year over year, fueled by the strength of next generation software and hardware sales, including robust demand for Wii products.

Net loss for the first quarter was $38.0 million or $0.52 per share, compared to a net loss of $21.5 million or $0.30 per share in the first quarter of fiscal 2007.

This isn't an isolated quarter. Take Two has been bleeding money for quite some time now, despite big hits like Bioshock and Carnival Games. GTA is what keeps them alive, and some people say this may be the last GTA game that Rockstar lets Take Two publish.
