| Samus Aran said: Nobody is going to buy Until Dawn, a very cinematic game, after they just watched an entire let's play from it. It can boost sales of other kind of games though, but to tell you the truth I don't want to see the demographic that watches pewdiepie on the Wii U. How anyone can watch more than a minute of his videos is beyond me. |
It's a game that otherwise wouldn't sell very well, so any advertisement is in its benefit. The game is also fairly unknown by the vast majority of gamers.
Think of it like Five Nights at Freddies. Undeniably, that franchise has sold well because of its let's play attention, despite people experiencing the same game, essentially, by either watching a let's play or playing it themselves.
Sure, there's one big difference between the two, and that's price. FNAF is extremely cheap and Until Dawn is a full-priced game. But I think many people will still go out and buy the game even if they saw a Let's Play of it.
