The only game I have ever just exclusively played for an extremely long time (about five-ish months or so) was Starcraft II. I can understand the addiction. That said, I don't really play competitive games anymore, so I don't really ever play a single game for that long. Even Diablo III, which is the only game I can say I'm close to being addicted to, I usually only play for two week periods at a time, and then stop playing for a few months.
