I'm usually a variety is the spice of life kinda guy, but lately I've been playing nothing but Splatoon. Haven't even touched Mario Kart 8 or Animal Crossing for weeks now, although Smash 3DS has been played while on the go and during long save scuming sessions in Splatoon, but otherwise it's all about the Squid Kids. The game is just so damn good n fun, can't blame me for getting addicted to it. Obviously the gameplay is the biggest draw, as it's unique, easy to pick up/hard to master, tight, fast-paced, and balanced enough to let me play how I want and still do well. That alone is enough to keep me coming back, but Nintendo took it a step further.

Thanks to the free updates that same awesome gameplay is able to be played in news ways every week via the introduction of new weapons/gear/maps/modes. I anticipate these updates almost as much as I would a new game. Many criticised the disc locking of content, but there's no denying the strategy has worked on me and other's aswell I bet. As long as they keep these updates coming, pulling myself away from the game long enough to play something else probably wont happen. If I am not even playing other games I own then it certainly doesn't make sense to buy more only for them to share the same fate, and since the updates are continuing into the Fall, I may not bother buying another game til 2016.

Anyone else feel this way or am I the only crazy one?
