Imo people were aware of the risks when they signed up for the site, the law suit against the site is bizarre because really it should mean that any other organization that's been hacked and had information leaked could be sued which is a can of worms.
The owners may be liable for information they didn't delete as promised when people close their accounts with the site but for everyone else the situation is up in the air tbh.
