I usually tend to have flawless online experiences because i get my internet from the phone company. Still, I can see that this could be the issue. It doesn't happen to me every single time and when it does, it's just a minor inconvenience.

Do you have DSL or Cable? I went from DSL (crappy 18 mbps) to Cable (up to 100 mbps) and my connection has never been better. Used to take my 3DS forever to enter the eshop and now it takes less than 20-30 seconds. I'm glad I ditched AT&T and I'm only paying about 10 dollars more. AT&T tried to stop me from disconnecting my services after a year by offering me 45 mbps for ~$43 dollars but I just had enough. Funny that I went from Time Warner to AT&T when I moved into my house from an apt. I believe Time Warner kind of sucks at apartments because of all the units in the apartment complex (my connection speed would bounce around like crazy even through ethernet connection). I believe with a house you get less interference than a apt. when it comes to a cable connection.

I have DSL. Cable isn't really an option unless I pay a ton of money. Internet is actually the only reason I still have a home phone.
