If you add up all 45 review scores and divide by 45 (which was how I was taught to get an average ) you get: 79.55 Yet the metacritic score is showing as 78. WTH? Btw if you remove that ridiculous "look at me, I'm controversial!!" score of 40 by Digital Spy, the average score goes to: 80.45

Metacritic is using a weighted average, some scores are worth more than others to them.

G*ddamned statistics!!
Well, that would explain the fuzzy math. Thanks for the info.
I still think they should remove obvious outlier scores that are clearly click-bait too high or too low (like the 40 for Digital Spy).
