On an almost-unrelated note, I consider Nightmare of Elm Street to be one of the greatest pieces of horror cinematography. It's not scary anymore, but I've always found that the sum of its pieces in that movie fit perfectly. And add to it a teenager that - unlike her counterparts in other teen horror movies - was afraid, but at the same time, capable of facing the monster herself.
