Phil didn't badmouth the company, he badmouthed the executives in charge of Sony Japan. Rightfully so too, those guys are really stubborn and arrogant. Heck, Sony didn't even want to get into the "toys" or videogame industry until they decided they wanted revenge for getting backstabed by nintendo. If those old school samurai executives at Sony didn't have the brand name to protect thier investments, they'd be on the streets already.
