I don't agree. The 3d platformers by rare are pretty good but I think they suffer from focussing too much on 'collecting stuff'. Banjo wasn't as bad as DK64 when it comes to collecting but I prefer how Mario 64 approached 3d platforming.
But it is one of the better 3d platformers. To me the Mario platformers are better but not a lot of other games in the genre are. Good 3d platformers are pretty rare I think.
