Alright, here comes a big update from my front.
First of all, I'm going to have to make some calls so that the participants get back here. Most of them are lagging behind in their updates, and that, my people, is a no-no. :P
Second of all, I've finished everything up to the first boss, who I already defeated (I'll get to this later), and now I was confronting Sarif. I won the conversation, and I must say, not having the social enhancer makes everything more exciting, albeit challenging. You have to rely more on what the person tells you than listening to the clues the CASIE gives you.
Remember, guys (this is specially because of what happened to episteme): CHECK JENSEN'S COMPUTER AFTERWARDS
Going back to the update:
- I managed to finish all the missions in the Detroit the first time you're around there. Regarding Megan's mother, I chose to keep the bracelet. Also managed to talk my way into Jensen's former friend, and the hooker and scientist sidequest, too. I'm kind of playing as a hoarder, so I try to nab everything I can and stuff it into my inventory. My first praxis purchases have been upgrading the whole space of it, so that I have no issues (for now. This game has some serious inventory management issues).
- Managed to do the mission without killing any soldiers, albeit I blew up a robot with a PEM grenade and the explosion killed one. Dunnu if it counts; his fault, though. You can't just rush toward a malfunction robot and not expect the worst to happen.
- The boss. OH MY GOD. I knew this moment was coming, but still...bleh. Killed me six or seven times, then I managed to get around him by throwing him those explosive barrels - all of them - then getting close and personal with a magnum. Pacifist characters are seriously fucked when dealing with these dudes. On a side note, my inventory is full of chocolate. Me love some energetic chocolate bars. Also a bit of whisky. And painkillers, I look like a goddamn Max Payne.
pokoko said: Some random thoughts after finishing the first mission: Tranq rife is OP. Seriously. Deus Ex, like so many games with RPG elements, is a lot harder at the beginning than at the end. I've always found that kind of funny. I'm going heavy into hacking, which means I'm already dreading the first boss. What weapon is everyone using as their main? I'm going Tranq and will probably upgrade a 10mm through the roof. Not sure if I'll bother with anything else. I loved the sniper rifle last time I played but it's too big to carry around. |
You have to consider Adam Jensen was supposed to be the ultimate soldier, but Sarif ran out of time when augmenting him, hence why you have to use all these praxis things. Imagine if you had everything unlocked from the get-go.
I'm using almost full melee. The only times I have to use a weapon - the stun gun, and the SEPE - is because I'm surrounded and don't have enough batteries to deal with everyone.
episteme said: So, I finished the Missing Link episode. It's good overall, but the backtracking is pretty bad and the security scans are annoying as fuck. Oh, and there's a way to save both the prisoners and Kavanagh.
If you wasted your praxis points for abilities that aren't very useful in the DC before the Missing Link (starting on the ship), don't worry. |
Not having the Missing Link myself, I've heard you can deal with the boss anyway you want.
