I hope you aren't referring to the Killzone "people couldn't tell it wasn't 1080p" stuff, because I think the flaws of that argument have been quite well established :p It's one thing to put no personal value in IQ, and I agree resolution discussions are rather dull, but that argument was born from some people's lack of understanding (and in other cases disregard) of the tech/process involved.

Well people see it in different ways so everyone has different opinions.

How a piece of tech like this works isn't really a matter of opinion :p It's fairly static. Like I said, it's one thing to put no value in IQ, since that is something that's relevance is entirely down to the individual, but using Killzone SF as a justification is fundamentally flawed, since it assumes it's doing something it's not.

That's not to say they were able to simulate a perfect 1080p image, they weren't, but the visual flaws weren't things associated with resolution. The general clarity was functionally 1080p, since there were 1920x1080 independent pixels on screen (as apposed to something like 720p, which produces a blur due to pixels needing to be stretched out), however, there was an odd tethering on edges. Many of us had assumed, given that's not something generally related to resolution, that it was being caused by GG's custom FXAA method. It didn't help that GG have a fondness for very strong motion blur in some of their games, which made it even harder to work out what the hell was going on.

I think it says a lot that almost none of us noticed exactly what was causing the odd visual flaws in SF's MP image, yet when FF15's  '1080p' screenshots were released, many of us immediately noticed that it was not only 900p, but had a 1080p HUD. So either our eye took a nap for those few months, or the end result of the two is different, thus aren't directly relavent to each other. I tend to think the latter is more probable.

It's a shame there is no much negativity around what SF did (much of which can be credited to how Somy handled it), because while the process could have done with some refining (especially the prediction algorithm), it could have been a great compromise for the graphics, IQ, and frame rate crowds.

(Sorry about any typos, on my phone).
